Important Dates:
March 15, 2010 - Meet the Tutor Night
March 20, 2010 - Orientation/Interview Day for New Students/New Families
This interview day will be held at Bay Area Community Church in Crownsville MD. - 884 Chesterfiled Rd.
March 22, 2010 - Existing/Returning Family Registration for 18, 17, and 16 year olds
March 22, 2010 - Orientation/Interview Night I for New Students/New Families
March 29, 2010 - Existing/Returning Family Registration for 15, 14, and 13 year olds.
March 29, 2010 - Orientation/Interview Night II for New Students of Existing/Returning Families
April 12, 2010 - New Family Registration
April 19, 2010 Begin Late Registration - as needed.
Information on Prerequisites
Prior to registering for any of the following classes, you must complete the prerequisite assignments. Students attempting to register without the prerequisites will not be permitted to register for that class. You may lose your desired place in that class if it fills up with people who have already finished the prerequisite assignments!
Advanced Writing (Mrs. Marsha Macleod) Prerequisite: Must be a Junior or Senior, have completed a composition course, submission of an essay written in the previous year.
Christian Writers (Mrs. Marsha Macleod) Prerequisitie: Sophomore, Junior, Senior
American Government ( Col. William P. Holmes III) Prerequisite: US History
Speech (Mrs. Marsha Macleod) Prerequisitie: Sophomore, Junior, Senior
Algebra II (Mrs. Sharon Jollie) Prerequisite: Placement test
Algebra I (Mrs. Amy Jenkins) Prerequisite: Placement test
Geometry (Mrs. Amy Jenkins) Prerequisite: Assessment test
Physical Science (Mr. Don Luce) Prerequisite: Parent should complete questionnaire and return to Mr. Luce.
Physics (Mrs. Sharon Jollie) Prerequisite: Algebra II
Latin III (Mrs. Angie Clement) Prerequisite: Latin II or equivalent
Many parents wonder which classes their student should take first. Some classes should definitely be taken before others. Other classes can be taken at any time during a student's high school experience. Come to Meet the Tutor Night to listen to course descriptions and ask questions of the tutor. This enables parents to choose classes that are appropriate for their student.
The following table suggests an order in which students might want to attend classes.
