Speech
Class Length:
One Semester (Spring 2010)
Description:
During the semester, students will present a variety of speeches—introductory, informative, instructive, and persuasive—as well as a dramatic interpretation. Usually speeches will be given every other week. When students are not preparing for a speech, they will have reading assignments in the text with worksheets on topics such as delivery and methods of persuasion. The course blends reading about speech with learning by listening to others as well as speaking in front of others.
Student evaluations will be based on speeches, a dramatic interpretation, worksheets, quizzes based on the worksheets, and class participation.
