Managing Personal Finances

This one semester course is designed to equip high school students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage their personal finances effectively. Students learn practical “real life” skills, which they can utilize throughout their own lives.

Topics will include: employee pay and benefits, taxes, retirement savings, bank services, budgeting, purchasing house and auto, buying on credit, insurance needs, investment options, and becoming an informed consumer. The students will be doing many projects to improve these skills such as keeping and balancing a checkbook, filling out tax forms, and managing investments.

We will address each of these topics in the light of biblical stewardship and a godly view of money.

Grades will be based on quizzes, assignments, and class participation.
