Managing Personal Finances

This one semester course is designed to equip high school students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage their personal finances effectively. Students learn practical “real life” skills, which they can utilize throughout their own lives. Topics will include: bank services, buying on credit (calculating costs), checking accounts, employee pay and benefits, completing income tax returns for an individual, buying a car, buying vs. renting a home, budgeting, buying insurance, and becoming an informed consumer. We will address each of these topics in the light of God’s view of money.

Grades will be based on quizzes, assignments, and class participation.
