Latin IV

Latin IV
Latin IV is offered in alternating school years. It will be offered in the 2011-2012 school year. The Latin IV course is open to students who have successfully completed the first three years of Latin. Students will review Latin grammar and will concentrate on reading Latin authors. Students will be reading parts of Julius Caesar’s Gallic Wars as well as a selection of various prose authors and poets spanning 1700 years of Latin literature.  Students will take the National Latin Exam and participate in the Roman banquet.

Prerequisite for Latin 4

In order to take Latin IV at Cornerstone a student must have successfully completed Latin III with Mrs. Clement. If a student has taken Latin elsewhere he and a parent must first meet with the tutor (Mrs. Clement) to determine whether the student is ready for Latin IV. The student must be willing to complete any extra work over the summer that Mrs. Clement thinks might be needed for him to take the class.
