Language Arts – Eighth Grade
This class is designed especially for 8th graders. It is a complete language arts class with special emphasis on grammar, mechanics, and vocabulary with an eye towards preparing students for high school work. Students will also read and study poetry, learning about poetic devices and interpretation. In addition, students will read and study a novel. Composition lessons will focus on correct grammar and usage in written work and on students learning to read their own writing with a critical eye. The following books will be used for the class:
